The Sharjah Institute for Heritage continued its series of intellectual sessions, scholarly lectures, and dialogues as part of its ongoing efforts to spread cultural awareness and strengthen authentic heritage values. The institute organized a cultural lecture titled “Al-Sana‘ in Our Majlis,” delivered by heritage researcher Fahd Ali Al-Maamari, at the Kalba Literary Majlis. The event was attended by a group of those interested in heritage and culture, participants from Saif Al-Ya’arabi School for Boys, and representatives from several government institutions.

Al-Sana‘… a deep-rooted value system The lecture, held by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage – Kalba branch, addressed the concept of “al-sana‘” as an integrated framework of manners and behaviors that organize Emirati majlis gatherings. It represents an inherited system of values that helps consolidate national identity and strengthen the spirit of respect and community interaction.

Between preservation and renewal Al-Maamari emphasized the importance of balancing the demands of the modern age with the preservation of social heritage, noting that al-sana‘ is not limited to form or custom but extends to form a behavioral culture reflecting society’s awareness and depth of belonging.

Interactive dialogue and knowledge enrichment The session concluded with an open discussion with attendees, which saw notable interaction and contributed to enriching the presentation and deepening understanding of the importance of al-sana‘ in contemporary majlis gatherings
