H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam’s Speech on Emirati Women’s Day
With great pride, we celebrate Emirati Women’s Day, a national occasion that embodies a pioneering journey of empowerment, contribution, and achievement. It reflects the UAE’s vision of investing in its people and providing women with opportunities to be active and essential partners in the nation’s development and in shaping the future. Throughout a remarkable journey of achievements, Emirati women have demonstrated their ability to attain leading positions across various fields and to contribute with competence and distinction to building a knowledge-based society and advancing innovation and excellence.
What Emirati women have achieved today is the result of a firmly established vision championed by the wise leadership and strengthened by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation.” Her efforts have helped empower women and reinforce their presence across all fields of national endeavour, making Emirati women an inspiring model of ambition and leadership—one that combines pride in national identity with a forward-looking vision for the future.
In the fields of culture and heritage, women’s contributions are particularly remarkable. They play an essential role in preserving folk heritage, safeguarding cultural memory, and passing on knowledge, customs, traditions, and traditional crafts to younger generations. They have also contributed to advancing cultural and heritage work and to harnessing knowledge and modern technologies to promote heritage and strengthen its presence both locally and internationally.
At the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, we take great pride in the valuable contributions of Emirati women across the various fields of heritage work. We firmly believe that their participation is a fundamental pillar for safeguarding our heritage and strengthening our national identity. This year’s slogan, “We Will Emerge Stronger and Better,” embodies the spirit of Emirati ambition and affirms that women’s journey will continue to be marked by achievement. What has been accomplished is not the end of the journey, but a new step towards a brighter future defined by greater excellence and distinction.
