The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) participated in the 22nd edition of the International Education Show, hosted by Expo Centre Sharjah from 11 to 13 October 2026. Through its pavilion, the Institute showcased its academic programmes and specialised professional qualifications in cultural heritage, highlighting the study and training opportunities it offers and their role in preparing qualified professionals capable of safeguarding cultural heritage, preserving its knowledge, and transmitting it to future generations.

The participation reflects the Institute’s vision of strengthening the presence of cultural heritage within specialised education, raising awareness of its academic and professional pathways, and opening up broader opportunities for students and interested individuals to pursue this evolving field of knowledge and professional practice.

Academic Programmes to Prepare Specialised Professionals

Through its pavilion, SIH’s Academic Administration presented the Institute’s leading academic programmes and professional qualifications in cultural heritage, along with their admission pathways and educational and professional outcomes. It also highlighted the role of these programmes in building a specialised knowledge and skills base that combines academic foundations with practical application, preparing professionals to meet the requirements of safeguarding, managing and sustaining cultural heritage.

The pavilion served as a platform to introduce the educational and professional opportunities offered by the Institute and highlight the importance of specialised education in preparing professionals equipped with the scientific knowledge and practical skills needed to protect cultural heritage, enhance its presence in contemporary life, and ensure the continuity of its knowledge and practices across generations.

Meetings and Visits Strengthen Institutional Engagement

The Institute’s pavilion welcomed visits from a number of officials, delegations and representatives of educational and academic institutions, including delegations from the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Sharjah Private Education Authority. They learned about the academic programmes and professional qualifications offered by SIH and its efforts to develop specialised education and training pathways in heritage-related fields.

As part of its efforts to strengthen engagement and exchange expertise, Dr Khalid Al Shehhi, Director of Academic Administration at SIH, accompanied by the department’s team, toured several pavilions of participating institutions. During the tour, he met representatives of educational and academic entities and learned about their experiences and initiatives. The meetings also provided opportunities to exchange expertise and ideas and explore prospects for joint cooperation in educational and professional fields of mutual interest.

Heritage Education: A Pillar of Preservation and Sustainability

SIH’s participation in the International Education Show reflects its commitment to broadening awareness of its academic programmes and professional qualifications and strengthening engagement with educational institutions, students and interested individuals, creating further opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

The participation also underscores the Institute’s commitment to advancing specialised education in cultural heritage as a fundamental pillar in preparing qualified professionals to safeguard, manage and sustain cultural heritage. It further reinforces heritage as a field of knowledge and professional practice that brings together academic study and practical application, contributing to the transmission of heritage expertise to future generations.
