Sharjah, 7 February 2026

The Al Dhahouriyin Tribe is participating in the mountain environment pavilion as part of the activities of the 23rd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days, in a presence that reflects the deep connection of mountain communities to their tangible and intangible heritage, and their continued participation in this cultural event that highlights the diversity of Emirati environments.

A Comprehensive Tangible and Intangible Heritage
Dr. Turki Saeed Al Dhahouri, a researcher in Emirati heritage, reviewed the features of the mountain environment, which includes traditional houses, crafts, professions, arts, and social customs. He affirmed that this heritage combines tangible elements such as dwellings and traditional tools, and intangible elements represented by folk arts, chants, and inherited folklore.

Lifestyle Patterns and Adaptation to Nature
He noted that members of the Al Dhahouriyin Tribe are distinguished by a simple lifestyle based on social solidarity and seasonal movement in search of livelihood and water. They reside near coastal areas during the summer and in valley beds during the winter, reflecting their ability to adapt to the harsh mountain environment while preserving their deeply rooted cultural heritage across generations.
