Sharjah Heritage Organises a Field Visit in Kalba for University of Sharjah Master’s Students to Enhance Awareness of the Value of Heritage and the Memory of Place.
As part of the “Memory of the Road” campaign, and within its ongoing efforts to safeguard cultural heritage and strengthen ties to national identity, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage recently organised a field trip to heritage sites in the city of Kalba. The visit targeted students of the Master’s Programme in Cultural Heritage Conservation Management at the University of Sharjah, offering an interactive educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application.
Introducing Heritage Sites
The Kalba branch of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage presented students with an on-site overview of أبرز landmarks, highlighting their historical, cultural, and social dimensions, reflecting the depth and richness of local heritage.
Interactive Activities and Live Experience
The tour included interactive activities that allowed students to explore the sites firsthand, alongside visits to several museums and locations, including the Rashid Al Nuham Museum and the Crafts House (Bait Al Walida Fatima Al Marashda).
Enhancing Awareness and Belonging
The visit contributed to reinforcing the importance of preserving the memory of place and strengthening the presence of heritage within the collective consciousness, supporting younger generations’ connection to their history and fostering values of belonging and pride in identity.

This tour marks the conclusion of the current series of field visits ضمن the “Memory of the Road” campaign, with activities set to resume during the upcoming winter season of this year.
