Al Musallam Inspects Kalba Heritage Projects and Emphasizes Teamwork as a Cornerstone for Preserving Cultural Identity.
As part of the institute’s efforts to strengthen the presence of local heritage, enhance its mechanisms, programs, and projects, and reinforce national identity across the cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, and within the framework of its continued commitment to closely monitoring cultural and heritage initiatives on the ground, His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, paid an official visit to the institute’s branch in the city of Kalba. During the visit, he met with branch employees as part of a regular meeting to review workflow, assess the branch’s needs, and provide moral support to work teams. The visit was attended by Saleh Mohammed Al Ghamri, Director of the Institute’s Kalba Branch, along with several staff members.
Discussing Kalba Heritage Projects
The visit included discussions on several issues related to heritage projects in the region, implemented in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. New work teams for future projects were formed, and plans for the Kalba Heritage Museum were reviewed, reflecting the institute’s direction toward developing heritage work through modern approaches that preserve the authenticity of the place and its cultural identity.
The importance of field visits to heritage projects and sites was also emphasized, highlighting their role in strengthening direct supervision, improving performance, and supporting ongoing efforts to preserve cultural heritage and connect it to younger generations through practical and sustainable methods.
Teamwork as the Foundation of Success
His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam stressed that field visits are an essential component of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage’s working approach, as they allow direct follow-up of heritage projects and programs, help identify their needs, and support their continuous development.
He stated: “We are committed to fostering teamwork and building a supportive professional environment that contributes to the development of cultural and heritage projects, in line with the institute’s goals and mission of preserving heritage and strengthening its presence in society.”
He added that the Kalba branch represents an important part of the institute’s operational framework due to the city’s rich cultural and historical assets, emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to develop heritage initiatives and projects, expand their reach among different segments of society, and connect them to younger generations through innovative and sustainable approaches.
Al Ghamri Praises the Chairman’s Visit
For his part, Saleh Mohammed Al Ghamri, Director of the Institute’s Kalba Branch, expressed his appreciation for the visit of the Institute Chairman, noting that it reflects the administration’s commitment to direct communication with branch employees and on-site follow-up of cultural and heritage projects, contributing to enhanced performance and the quality of initiatives and programs offered.
Al Ghamri stated that the visit serves as a strong morale booster for the team to continue efforts aimed at developing cultural and heritage projects and strengthening Kalba’s position on the heritage and culture map through quality initiatives that contribute to preserving and showcasing cultural heritage in ways that meet community aspirations.
This visit comes as part of a series of field tours and follow-up visits carried out by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage across its branches and sites to support heritage and cultural work and improve the efficiency of projects and initiatives related to safeguarding cultural heritage for future generations.
