"Meeting Across Generations" Initiative
As part of the "Year of Community", the Sharjah Institute for Heritage is organizing the initiative "Meeting Across Generations", which aims to strengthen national belonging and enhance communication among different segments of society, through joint collaboration with government entities and social institutions.
This initiative is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Family and the Department of Social Services, and includes a series of purposeful heritage activities. These feature introductions to the marine environment, performances of the traditional Emirati "Al-Nahma" chant, along with other events that reflect cultural heritage and reinforce authentic inherited values.
Through this initiative, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage emphasizes the importance of intergenerational integration in heritage preservation efforts and maintaining the Emirati identity, by engaging various segments of society in activities that embody the spirit of folk heritage and foster dialogue between generations, ensuring the continuity of cultural legacy.
