Release of Issue No. 43 of the “Institute News” Bulletin
The news of the conclusion of the “Sharjah Heritage Days” topped the “Institute News” bulletin issued by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage. The 23rd edition was held under the theme “The Glow of Authenticity,” with the participation of 26 countries. It concluded on February 15 and attracted more than 390,000 visitors.
The event was rich with numerous cultural, heritage, and entertainment activities celebrating Emirati heritage in all its elements and symbols. It aimed to preserve the rich legacy left by ancestors, revive authentic Emirati customs and traditions, celebrate original environments, and connect with the spirit of the modern age. This was highlighted in Issue No. 43, published in March 2026 in its fifth year.
“Sharjah Heritage Days” featured a variety of heritage exhibitions, including “Tea Etiquette,” “Illuminations on Wood,” and “Kashtat,” in addition to special exhibitions aimed at preserving cultural heritage and strengthening identity. The event also included a comprehensive intellectual program featuring 18 academic lectures, 20 book signings and launches, along with many other activities.
The events were also held in Al Hamriyah, where the heritage village included activities reflecting the diversity of Emirati environments, along with exhibitions showcasing traditional crafts and practices. A wheat farm introduced visitors to the stages of cultivation and harvest. In Kalba, authentic heritage scenes of the local environment were recreated, including camels, palm trees, and fishing. The atmosphere of traditional gatherings was filled with the aroma of coffee, alongside sections dedicated to traditional foods, as well as enriching cultural discussions.
In the heritage villages of Al Dhaid, Dibba Al Hisn, Khor Fakkan, and Wadi Al Helo, activities revived the “Glow of Authenticity” in the minds of visitors. The events embodied inherited values and traditions, blending them with knowledge that revives heritage memory and entertainment that delights younger visitors.
Among the institute’s news is the “Adoption of the Private Records Management System for the Sharjah Institute for Heritage,” signed with the National Archives, ensuring the collection, preservation, and organization of the institute’s paper and electronic documents according to the highest standards.
