The “Cultural Café” at Bait Al Naboodah hosted a seminar titled “The Islamic Presence in Portugal and Its Impact on the Development of Education,” with participation from academics and intellectuals and with official and cultural attendance, coinciding with Portugal being chosen as the guest of honor for the edition under the slogan “The Glow of Authenticity.”

Education as a civilizational radiance
Dr. Raj Izar reviewed the impact of Islamic heritage on shaping Portugal’s social, scientific, and architectural structure, emphasizing the role of education and scientific institutions such as mosques, kuttabs, and libraries in spreading knowledge, and how this is reflected today in the integration of Islamic history into educational curricula.

A living architectural and cultural influence
Dr. Inas Kamara discussed the presence of Andalusian features in architecture, the arts, language, and daily customs, noting the use of heritage in modern education through interactive methods that make the learner a partner in knowledge.

Renewed heritage and active identity
The speakers affirmed that linking heritage with education enhances empowerment and social dialogue, turning heritage into a living element of cultural identity that contributes to community-building and opens broad channels of civilizational communication.
