Sharjah Heritage Days Explores Young Talents Across Generations

14 Feb 2026

Sharjah – February 14, 2026

Generations converge — much like cultures from around the world — at the vibrant grounds of Sharjah Heritage Days, where bustling crowds gather not only to celebrate tradition, but also to uncover hidden talents and creative potential.

Beyond the colour, music and heritage displays, the 23rd edition of the festival has become a fertile space for self-discovery — particularly among children and youth. Across a wide range of artistic and cultural workshops, young participants experiment with painting, doll-making and craft activities, guided by mentors who provide all necessary tools and materials. Each child leaves not only with a handcrafted creation, but with a tangible memory of achievement.

Stretching from the heart of Sharjah city to seven different locations across the emirate, the festival grounds are alive with energy. Smiles spread easily among workshop participants — especially at the moment of completion, when children proudly carry their paintings, handmade dolls or palm-waste crafts through the heritage squares.

Six-year-old Aisha Bu Baker Saeed beams as she holds up her colourful painting in the festival square, while her brother Hazeem Bu Baker Saeed excitedly runs beside her, launching into the air a small bird he crafted from recycled palm materials. It was their first experience in such creative workshops, their mother shared — a moment that turned curiosity into confidence.

Scenes like these echo across the venues, reinforcing the festival’s broader mission: preserving heritage while nurturing the next generation’s imagination. In blending tradition with hands-on creativity, Sharjah Heritage Days does more than showcase the past — it invests in the future, offering children and youth a stage to discover their abilities and perhaps the first spark of lifelong passions.
