Sharjah Heritage Days Reinforce Authenticity and Cultural Identity in Dibba Al-Hisn

Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Kalba, inaugurated the 23rd edition of “Sharjah Heritage Days” in the city of Dibba Al‑Hisn, held under the theme “The Glow of Authenticity.” The opening was attended by several officials, heads of government departments, and members of the public and heritage enthusiasts, in a festive atmosphere that reflected the strong presence of heritage within the community scene.
This stop comes as part of the festival’s programme of moving across different regions of the emirate, affirming the commitment of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage to strengthening the presence of cultural heritage in society and reinforcing national identity among younger generations through activities that vividly and contemporarily showcase the details of Emirati life.
Tour of the Heritage Village
Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi toured the heritage village, visiting its sections and accompanying activities, and listened to explanations about the programmes that embody aspects of traditional Emirati life and the inherited values and customs that reflect the authenticity of society and its national identity.
Heritage Activities Reflect Living Traditions
The event featured a rich programme of heritage activities, including folk arts performances, traditional handicraft workshops, children’s traditional games, as well as stalls offering local cuisine and Emirati hospitality. Heritage product exhibitions and handcrafted items recalling daily life in the past also formed part of the interactive scene that attracted residents and visitors alike.
