Sharjah Heritage Institute and Emirates Library and Information Association Explore Prospects for Knowledge and Academic Cooperation

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen knowledge partnerships and exchange academic expertise, the Sharjah Heritage Institute welcomed a delegation from the Emirates Library and Information Association to discuss prospects for institutional cooperation and the development of joint initiatives in scientific and cultural fields. The meeting aimed to support knowledge dissemination, scientific research, and the safeguarding of cultural heritage.

Knowledge Partnership for Research and Documentation Development

Represented by its Academic Administration, the Institute discussed with the Association’s delegation ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of knowledge management, documentation, and scientific research. Discussions also covered professional development, the enhancement of students’ and researchers’ skills, and the utilization of specialized expertise in library and information sciences to support the Institute’s academic and cultural initiatives.

Scientific Cooperation and Professional Development

Dr. Khalid Al Shihi, Director of the Academic Administration at the Institute, stated that the meeting addressed several proposals for implementing joint training programs and scientific events. These initiatives aim to strengthen the participation of students and researchers in knowledge-based and professional activities, enrich cultural and intellectual content, and serve the community through qualitative projects focused on developing national competencies.

Building Strategic Partnerships

This meeting reflects the commitment of both the Sharjah Heritage Institute and the Emirates Library and Information Association to expanding areas of cooperation and establishing strategic partnerships that support sustainable knowledge development and reinforce the role of scientific research and documentation in serving heritage and culture.

Introductory Tour of the Institute’s Facilities

On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation from the Emirates Library and Information Association toured the Institute’s facilities, where they were introduced to a number of specialized departments and venues. The delegation also received an overview of the Institute’s academic and professional programs, as well as its initiatives in safeguarding cultural heritage and qualifying national talents. In addition, they learned about the Institute’s efforts to employ modern technologies in support of educational and knowledge-based processes.
