A pioneering initiative enhancing the visitor experience
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Sharjah Heritage Institute organized free marine trips for visitors and guests of the 23rd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days, aiming to enrich the public experience and add an atmosphere of joy and enjoyment.
Abra boats carry the slogan “Radiance of Authenticity”
The trips were operated aboard traditional abra boats bearing the festival’s slogan, “Radiance of Authenticity,” connecting several waterfront locations—from the Al-Baghla Ship and Al Qasba to the Al Qasimia Ship and back—creating a scene that reflects the emirate’s rich maritime heritage.
A sea tour across Sharjah’s most prominent landmarks
The tours offered an enjoyable maritime experience, allowing visitors to take in views of Al Qasba Canal and Khalid Lagoon—one of Sharjah’s most prominent landmarks—especially with the opening of a new canal this year to renew the lagoon’s waters and expand its aesthetic and recreational appeal.
