Dr. Khalid Al Shehhi, Director of the Academic Administration at the Institute, discussed the concept of Emirati Sana’ as an integrated system of values, customs, and behaviors that reflect the authenticity of Emirati society and its cultural uniqueness. He emphasized its role in shaping national character and enhancing social cohesion, and he reviewed examples from the cultural and social heritage associated with Emirati identity.

Heritage in service of upbringing and building generations

The lecture highlighted the importance of employing national heritage in programs and activities directed at children and youth, contributing to instilling values of respect, responsibility, and belonging. It also emphasized strengthening the new generations’ connection to their cultural legacy through modern educational and knowledge-based methods that combine authenticity with contemporary requirements.

Engagement and dialogue on reinforcing identity

The meeting witnessed positive engagement and constructive discussions on the best ways to incorporate concepts of Emirati heritage and societal values into educational and cultural programs, supporting the efforts of child-focused institutions to prepare a generation that is aware of its national identity and proud of its cultural legacy.

A sustainable vision for spreading heritage awareness

This initiative falls within the vision of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage to promote awareness of national heritage and broaden its presence in educational and community institutions.
