Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi Opens Sharjah Heritage Days Events in Khorfakkan

Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in the city of Khorfakkan, inaugurated yesterday evening, 13 February 2026, the activities of the 23rd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days, in the presence of officials and a large public audience.
Old Al-Zubarah Celebrates Heritage
The celebrations were hosted in the Old Al-Zubarah district, selected as a site to revive historic neighborhoods and highlight the values of authenticity and national identity, as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard cultural heritage and strengthen its presence within the community.
“The Glow of Authenticity” Unites Sharjah’s Cities
The events were launched under the slogan “The Glow of Authenticity,” the official theme of this year’s edition across the emirate’s cities, reflecting the living continuity between past and present.
A Diverse Three-Day Heritage Program
The activities will continue until tomorrow evening, Sunday 15 February, featuring folk performances, live heritage workshops, exhibitions for artisans and productive families, as well as personal museums documenting details of traditional life in the region.
Official Presence and Strong Public Engagement
The opening was attended by Abu Bakr Al-Kindi, Director of the Institute, along with local officials, dignitaries, and large crowds of visitors who gathered to enjoy events reflecting the depth and authenticity of Emirati heritage.
