(SIH) Concludes "Sharjah Miqaydh 2026," Inspiring Children Through Heritage and National Identity
The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) has successfully concluded the fourth edition of its annual summer camp, Sharjah Miqaydh 2026, marking the end of two weeks of enriching cultural, educational, and interactive activities designed to introduce children to the richness of the UAE's heritage while strengthening their sense of national identity.
Held under the theme "Your Heritage, Your Identity," the camp offered a unique learning experience that blended education with entertainment, enabling participants to discover Emirati traditions through engaging workshops, folk tales, traditional games, arts and crafts, and a variety of heritage-inspired activities. The programme reflected the Institute's ongoing commitment to preserving the nation's cultural legacy by inspiring younger generations to embrace their heritage with pride and confidence.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, said the camp's continued success reflects the Institute's strategic vision of connecting young generations with their cultural roots.

"At the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, we are committed to developing innovative programmes that make heritage a living part of children's everyday experiences. His Excellency Abu Bakr Al Kindi, Director of the Institute, highlighted the camp's educational achievements, noting that its carefully designed programme successfully combined knowledge, creativity, and recreation.
"Our goal was to create an inspiring environment where children could learn, explore, and express their creativity while gaining a deeper appreciation of Emirati heritage," he said. "Sharjah Miqaydh has provided participants with meaningful experiences, practical skills, and memorable moments that transformed their summer holiday into a journey of discovery and personal growth."

Ms. Aisha Ghabesh, Director of the Institute's Events and Activities Department, said the camp attracted strong participation and witnessed remarkable enthusiasm from children throughout its programme.
"We designed an integrated programme that combined learning with enjoyment, allowing children to experience traditional crafts, folk games, heritage arts, and storytelling through immersive and interactive activities," she said. "The enthusiasm and positive engagement demonstrated by the participants throughout the camp clearly reflect the programme's success in nurturing a genuine appreciation for heritage and strengthening the values of belonging among the younger generation."
