(SIH) Launches the Fifth Edition of the Summer Storyteller Camp

20 Jul 2026

The Sharjah Institute for Heritage continues to strengthen its role in fostering cultural awareness among younger generations with the launch of the fifth edition of the Summer Storyteller Camp, organized by the Arab Heritage Center from July 20 to 30. The initiative combines learning, creativity, and entertainment, offering children an enriching experience inspired by the rich heritage of the United Arab Emirates through engaging and interactive activities that reinforce national identity and instill pride in authentic Emirati values.

Workshops that Nurture Skills and Inspire Talent

The camp features a comprehensive programme of cultural, heritage, and creative workshops designed to match children's interests while providing practical opportunities to develop their reading, public speaking, and self-expression skills. A diverse range of activities also enables participants to make the most of their summer holiday in an educational environment that successfully blends learning with enjoyment.

From Emirati Etiquette to the Young Storyteller

Participants begin their journey by exploring Al-Sanaa—the traditional Emirati code of etiquette and social values—gaining insight into the customs and traditions that define the nation's cultural identity. They then take part in the Young Storyteller programme, which encourages a love of reading, stimulates imagination, and enhances storytelling and presentation skills. The programme also includes heritage-inspired arts and crafts workshops, alongside environmental awareness activities that foster creativity and promote positive values and responsible behaviour.

Traditional Games: A Celebration of Heritage and Identity

The camp concludes with a variety of traditional Emirati games, giving children the opportunity to experience an authentic aspect of the nation's social heritage through interactive, hands-on activities. These experiences combine learning with practice, strengthen participants' connection to their national heritage, and deepen their sense of belonging and pride in the UAE's rich cultural legacy.
