(SIH) Holds a Brainstorming Session
Reaffirming its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, anticipating the future of heritage work, and further strengthening the position of Sharjah Heritage Days as one of the region's foremost cultural platforms dedicated to safeguarding humanity's cultural heritage, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage convened an extensive brainstorming session at the Institute's theatre to review developmental visions and innovative proposals for the 24th edition of Sharjah Heritage Days, scheduled for 2027.
The session was attended by H.E. Abubakr Al Kindi, Director of the Institute, alongside department directors, heads of sections, and Institute staff, as part of an early planning process aimed at enriching the event's content, advancing its programmes, and amplifying its cultural and community impact.
Innovation Rooted in Authenticity
The session featured a wide range of forward-thinking ideas and qualitative initiatives designed to enhance the overall Sharjah Heritage Days experience through more diverse and interactive programmes that celebrate the richness of Emirati heritage. The proposed concepts seek to present heritage through contemporary perspectives while preserving its authenticity, responding to audience aspirations, strengthening the event's local and international profile, and reinforcing its role as a cultural window showcasing the identity of the United Arab Emirates and its distinguished heritage.

The brainstorming session was characterised by dynamic dialogue and active engagement among participants, who exchanged perspectives on organisational, cultural, and media-related aspects of the event. Participants presented proposals to further develop the accompanying programmes and activities, building upon the accumulated expertise and achievements of previous editions to deliver a renewed cultural experience that meets visitors' expectations, broadens community participation, and enhances the quality of both content and programming.

H.E. Abubakr Al Kindi, Director of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, affirmed that Sharjah Heritage Days represents a continuously evolving cultural and civilisational project that embodies Sharjah's vision of safeguarding heritage and strengthening its presence within public consciousness. He noted that the Institute's early preparations for the 24th edition reflect its determination to build upon the distinguished record of excellence achieved throughout previous editions.
He added that the Institute is committed to capitalising on the expertise accumulated over the years and the successes realised in earlier editions to deliver an exceptional event that harmoniously combines authenticity with innovation while meeting the expectations of heritage enthusiasts from within the UAE and abroad.
Al Kindi further stressed that involving national talents and multidisciplinary work teams in brainstorming sessions reflects the Institute's collaborative approach to exchanging expertise and generating innovative ideas. He explained that the cultural and intellectual diversity of the proposals presented constitutes an important resource for enriching programmes, activities, and accompanying initiatives. He also emphasised that the upcoming edition will continue to consolidate Sharjah Heritage Days as a global platform for intercultural dialogue and for promoting Emirati heritage, thereby reinforcing Sharjah's standing as a leading centre for safeguarding cultural heritage and highlighting its universal human and civilisational values.
