(SIH)Strengthens the Presence of Emirati Heritage at “Back to School”
As part of its efforts to raise students’ awareness of Emirati heritage and reinforce the values of national identity, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) participated in the “Back to School” activities organized by Al Hisn Basic Education School – Cycle Two for Boys. The two-day event reflected the Institute’s ongoing efforts to promote heritage within the educational environment and introduce students to various aspects of authentic Emirati heritage.
Workshops Combining Learning and Entertainment
The Sharjah Institute for Heritage – Dibba Al-Hisn Branch featured a diverse programme of heritage, cultural and recreational workshops, offering students an interactive experience that combined learning with enjoyment. The activities also contributed to strengthening their connection with national identity and inherited social values.
“Al Sanaa”: Deep-Rooted Values
The programme included an “Al Sanaa” workshop presented by heritage researcher Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Teneiji, who highlighted a range of authentic Emirati customs, traditions and social etiquette. He underscored the importance of preserving these practices and introducing them to younger generations, describing them as a fundamental component of the UAE’s cultural and social heritage.
Partnership with Educational Institutions
The Sharjah Institute for Heritage’s participation, through its interactive programmes and activities, reflects its commitment to expanding cooperation with educational institutions and reinforcing the values of national identity and belonging.
The activities concluded with a group photograph of the participants, in an atmosphere that reflected a spirit of cooperation and engagement, capturing the essence of the Institute’s participation in an educational heritage experience that brought generations together around the UAE’s rich cultural heritage.
